Scarce edition of 1774 of the famous bovel by Daniel Defoe (1660-1731).
the work was published for the first time in London the 25th of april 1719 and it had an immediate success so that the novel excedeed english borders. The first french edition was published in 1720 in Amsterdam magistrally illustrated by Bernard Picard and translated by the satyrical poet Hyacinthe Cordonnier.
The first italian edition was published in 1730 by Domenico Occhi cwho reproduced the frontspice. After one year the second tome was published.
This edition was made up of two volumes, we opnly have the first tome but complete.

Parchment cover in poor conditions lightly worn in the extremities. Spine lacks and front plate detached. Binding in poor conditions with cracks and some page dteached. Pages in fair conditions with occasional foxing. Some worming in the edges of pag. 341 to the end with loss of text from pag. 345 to the end. Last page 347attached to a white page as a reinforcement. Paper applied in the verso of engraved frontspice. In 8. cm 19x12. Pp. 347.
