GRANDE CRUCHE MEDIEVALE EN GRES DE RAEREN. 
Pichet médiéval en grès gris avec reliefs moulés appliqués, lavis brun pâle et glaçure au sel. 
La cruche a un col cylindrique orné de rainures circulaires, une épaule en forme de dôme, une anse en boucle, un corps cylindrique se contractant en dessous en un pied bas arrondi. 
Le milieu est orné d'une frise en relief de paysans dansant dans des compartiments à arcades.
En dessous se trouve une bande portant l'inscription suivante en relief : 'GERHET DV MVS DAPER BLASEN SO DANSSEN DIE BVREN ALS WEREN SI RASEN ERS VFSPRICHT BASTOR ICH VER DA. . .' (Gérard, il faut souffler fort/courageusement; les rustres dansent comme s'ils étaient fous; le pasteur parle, je danse [enlève ma capuche et mon surplus]. 
Dans le deuxième compartiment à gauche se trouve la date '1597' 
.Sur le dessous, le corps est divisé en panneaux par des bandes verticales, et sur sur l'épaule, il y a sept panneaux contenant des motifs de cœurs et rinceaux.

Ces cruches, ont été réalisées entre 1580 et 1650 principalement dans la ville de Raeren. 
Hauteur : 21,7 cm – largeur 13,6 cm. - Datation : 1597 
Très bon état de conservation, légère restauration professionnelle au col

A LARGE MEDIEVAL STONEWARE JUG FROM RAEREN.
Medieval gray stoneware pitcher with applied molded reliefs, pale brown wash and salt glaze.
The jug has a cylindrical neck decorated with circular grooves, a domed shoulder, a looped handle, a cylindrical body contracting below into a low rounded foot.
The middle is decorated with a frieze in relief of peasants dancing in arcaded compartments.
Below is a strip with the following inscription in relief: 'GERHET DV MVS DAPER BLASEN SODansSEN DIE BVREN ALS WEREN SI RASEN ERS VFSPRICHT BASTOR ICH VER DA. . .' (Gérard, you have to blow hard/courageously; the rustics dance as if they were crazy; the pastor speaks, I dance [removes my hood and my surplus].
In the second compartment on the left is the date '1597'
.On the underside, the body is divided into panels by vertical bands, and on the shoulder, there are seven panels containing motifs of hearts and foliage.

These jugs were made between 1580 and 1650 mainly in the town of Raeren.
