8mm Cine Film Home Movie Aden/Yemen 1961, Shots Of Military & Civilian Aircraft

A home movie taken in 1961 on Kodachrome Standard 8mm cine film by an international worker (probably a diplomat or military).

I have projected all of this film to satisfy myself that the quality is okay and to review it (I don’t normally run the whole film, but this isn’t too long at 150ft, roughly 8 minutes). I filmed a few snippets with my iPhone and stitched them together for this sale. The actual footage is much longer.

As with all vintage film media there may be failing splices which need to be repaired but I didn’t find any, but this doesn’t mean they won’t fail in the future.

There is good footage, within the limits of the 8mm format, of the following:

1. Footage from the tarmac, airside, at Aden airport of bording of a Aden Airways Canadair Argonaut Aircraft with footage of all four engines starting up.

2. Britannia aircraft arriving in London

3. Street shots in Aden of locar workers

4. Harbour shots with the SS Canberra and some speedboat racing (at Aden)

5. An airshow (presumably Aden) featuring military aircraft, some parachuting, flypast and takeoffs. Including good footage of a Armstrong Whitworth Argosy.

Please bear in mind that the fluff, dark shadows, and general defects in the projected footage are from my projector and not on the film (I need to clean the fluff out of the film gate).
