Vintage Williams Trimometer #290 Nautical Device Henry Browne & Son London RARELY OFFERED!  SHIPS IN 24 HOURS!
This is an original trimometer that was taken from service on a ship.  A trimometer is a nautical instrument that measures the trim, which is the way in which a ship floats in the water, in relation to its fore and aft line. This trimometer was made by Henry Browne & Son of London.  It is estimated that this model was manufactured sometime between the 1920's -1940's.Overall, in good condition.  It has obvious wear from normal use. Operational condition is NOT guaranteed.  Not being familiar with how this instrument actually works, I cannot know if it is in working condition, nor if it is complete.  The trimometer is mounted on a black metal plate, which in turn, would have been mounted on the bulkhead.  The dimensions are: 21" length, 5" across, 5" tall.  It is made of mostly solid wood and brass.  The weight is 8.5 lbs. These instuments rarely go on the market.  There has not been one for sale on eBay for quite a while.  The only similar trimometer I could find online that sold recently was one that sold at a Bonhams auction and sold for $850.00.
