Marsing Flare, whose Beast in Black Kasperi Heikkinen (guitar) will be visiting Japan for METAL WEEKEND 2019, has released their 2nd album "Revolt Regime" for the first time in about 8 years! A number of dramatic numbers centered on speed tunes are sure to knock out metal fans! Mergingflare started in 2001 based on DISEASE, which evolved from a cover band formed by Kasperi Heikkinen (guitar) and Henri Pai (drums), who went to the same school.
After working with other bands and producing three demos, they made their debut with the album "Rebellion" (2011), 10 years after their formation.
Gamma Ray's Kai Hansen was featured in four songs, but in fact, Merging Flare members Casperi and Matthias Palm (vocals) are active in the gamma ray tribute band GUARDIANS OF MANKIND, which is well known to enthusiasts. Casperi has been on stage as a helper to the injured Gamma Ray's Henyu Richter, and he is a figure that the original family recognizes.
"Rebellion" was influenced by Gamma Ray, but there were some songs that boldly incorporated synthesizers, making it a bit different from the so-called German melodic power metal.
After the release of this album, the band played a few shows in their hometown of Finland, but the band went on hiatus.
After that, Casperi was active as a member of the U.D.O. before joining Beast in Black, formed by former Battle Beast member Anton Kabanen, and released the albums Berserker (2017) and From Hell with Love (2019) before relaunching Mergingflare, and now with their second album in about eight years, The Revolt Regime." With
one guitarist leaving the band, the album was produced by four musicians: Matthias Palm, Kasperi Heikkinen, Henri Pai, and Harri Reinonen (bass), and the overall sound was sharper, partly due to the fact that there were fewer synthesizer parts. The catchy vocal melody makes it an impressive melodic power metal album. All of the
songs are full of the real thrill of heavy metal, such as songs with beautiful melodic lead guitar and aggressive numbers full of galloping feeling, mainly speedy numbers, and the powerful voice of Matthias with a husky voice and Casperi's virtuosic guitar solo are also a big attraction. It's not
just Gamma Ray and Beast in Black fans, it's a work that appeals to all melodic power metal fans.
