Junkers Jumo 004 was the world's first turbojet engine in production and operational use. Manufactured by Junkers in Germany during late World War II, it was used to power the Messerschmitt Me 262 fighter and the Arado Ar 234 reconnaissance / bomber jet.
It was also used in prototype aircraft such as the Horten Ho 229
