H.M.S.O., London, 1913
printed by HARRISON & SONS, London, May 1913

The extremely rare 1913 edition of the official War Office Lee-Enfield Rifle manual, Handbook For Serjeant-Instructors, published by H.M.S.O. and printed by Harrsion & Sons in May 1913. This is a very well illustrated instructors handbook for British Army Service Rifles - the Lee-Enfield Rifle SMLE, and the Charger Loading Lee-Enfield. It includes detailed information covering the periodical inspection of arms, care and cleaning of arms, instructions in the use of tools, notes on the fitting of components, and directions for stripping and assembling the rifles.

The illustrations include five large fold-out, highly detailed, half size scale drawings of the Charger Loading Lee-Enfield and the SMLE Lee-Enfield and their components. Every aspect of the mechanism, construction and parts of each rifle is shown in very fine detail.

For anyone interested in the standard issue Lee-Enfield rifles used by the British Armed forces during the First World War, this is an invaluable reference work.
