This is a one of a kind, unique, hand-built ceramic sculpture that is part of a theme of art that I created, called the “Walkabout Jeans Collection”, previously featured and sold at “Art for the People Gallery” in Austin, Texas.  My motivation for this creation was my musings about whether well-worn “broken-in” jeans could take on a life of their own, and set out to explore the world.

 

Each item in the collection is individually built from stoneware with denim material texture, and then scribed, glazed and fired, with enamel highlights placed at completion.  The entire collection is comprised of over 100 unique items, but was a limited, one-time production.

This listing represents a sculpture of a pair of classic denim jeans with brown cowboy boots and has the classic cowboy bowlegged shape.  It will make a great gift for anyone who loves denim blue jeans and cowboys/cowgirls.  It can also hold water and be used as a bud vase for small flowers.

The sculpture measures about 5 3/8” tall x 2 1/2” wide at the base and 1 ½“ deep at the base.  It bears the artist's mark (PG) on the sole of the right boot and it is made in the USA by hand, comes from a smoke-free home, and will be accompanied by a signed certificate of authenticity.
