These antique pewter cups in the style of a baluster tankard has imprinted on the rim and marked on a plate on the side. The gill or teacup is a unit of measurement for volume equal to a quarter of a pint. It is no longer in common use, except in regard to the volume of alcoholic spirits measures.
These tankards have a lovely baluster pear shaped body on a flared skirt base and fairly deep top rim. The body has two double scribed circles as well as at the base of the cup.
IMPORTANT NOTE: This is a collectable item to be used for display or decoration only. It is not safe for food use.
