(*)What is a true A4 press ? - Size does matter !
NOT only the width of an A4 press is important ! . The drop, from the top of the jaws to your working surface is critical for A4 book working to accommodate spine work and “nipping”. If your A4 book cannot fully be accommodated from the top of the jaw to the working surface (it should not touch working surfaces !! ) then it is not actually an A4 press, it is an “A5 Press” This is caused by bad design of the press sides, being “not high enough” to accommodate a full A4 book size. Please do not forget that an A4 book is bigger than its signatures !!.
