Mint:  The record is absolutely perfect in every way. Never been played, possibly even still sealed. The record itself has no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition.

Excellent:  A nearly perfect record, with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.

Very Good +: The record is perfectly acceptable, plays with no skips or jumps, no obvious marks. Defects should be of a cometic nature. Hairlines, and other superficial scratches may be evident on the vinyl but sound quality and fidelity still excellent, may have the odd pop and crackle only.  Slight warps that do not affect the sound are "OK". Spindle marks may be present. The cover will have normal wear, seams and corners intact, some age deterioration. Picture sleeves and inner sleeves will have some slight wear, slightly turned-up corners, or a slight seam split. An LP cover may be marred by a cut-out hole, indentation, or cut corner. In general, if not for a couple of minor things wrong with it, this would be Excellent.

Very Good:  The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch/click. Labels may be marred by writing, or have tape or stickers (or their residue) attached.   The cover will display normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects.  Cover may be marred by writing, or have tape or stickers (or their residue) attached.

Good:  The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches., etc. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discolouration, etc.
