This whimsical handmade clay figurine features an intricately carved owl design and stands at 4 inches tall. It is signed by Max Hindt, a renowned artist from California. The brown color of the clay and the absence of glaze give it a rustic and natural feel. The expression on the owl's face, with the big eyes, is adorable!  It almost has a pleading look and seems to me to be more representative of a young owl, but I'm sure everyone will see it through their own eyes and appreciate it their own way.

I purchased this at an estate sale from a smoke free home.  It is in very good condition with no broken or missing parts, & no cracks.  The backstamp is incised, adding to the authenticity of the piece.  From my research, I believe Max Hindt made figurines of this type in the 1960's - 1970's at his studio in California.
