Z-21 belongs to the 1936 type destroyer, named Wilhelm Heidkamp, ​​and was commissioned on June 10, 1939. She is an improved version of the 1934 and 1934A destroyers. Structural strength and engine reliability have been significantly improved. By improving the shape of the bow, the wave resistance is improved, making it more suitable for ocean warfare. Z-21 was sunk in the Battle of Narvik on April 10, 1940.
