Offered here is a lovely large pair of Georgian period Irish provincial sterling silver bright cut serving spoons.

These spoons were made in Cork c.1790 probably by Patrick Ryan.  This is not Ryan's customary mark, so I am presuming this may be an alternative mark for this maker.  If you know better, please do correct me.

These spoons have a very elegant line, but have been well used and much loved, hence the bright cut decoration is now quite faint after 200 years of polishing.

Engraved on the face of the handle with later gothic style initials "J R"

The PR makers mark is faint, the P just discernible on one of the spoons.

Length: 24.6cm or 9 ¾ inches

Combined weight: 118g
