T5 Parachute Fragments From Operation Market Garden.

These fragments are from larger pieces recovered from Klein Amerika in Groesbeek, Holland. The area was designated as the drop zone for the 82nd Airborne's 505th Parachute Infantry Regiment and it would become their field headquarters. As the fragments were dug up, there will be staining. Some of the camo pattern fragments show signs of fire damage. The larger piece they were cut from had some holes burned in the middle as well as around the edges. It isn't known if the fire damage occurred during or after the the jump. The display you receive will be similar in size and shape to the one pictured. Some will have seams, some will not. The T5s used were either white like this or camouflage. All reserve chutes were white.

The fragments are displayed in an 8 1/2 x 11 glass faced document frame on a background that depicts airborne troops landing during Market Garden, as well as information about the piece.
