Up for auction is an antique 19th century top hat with original wood box recently found in central New Jersey.  It is offered in fair used antique condition.  Condition issues include dents, tear, crushed marks, losses to feather? exterior, staining to interior, loose hat band,distressed box with paint losses, many stains, paper losses inside, dirty.  Swing handle on box and pink papered interior.  Original hasp inside box not attached. Lid fits securely.  Box was painted over gesso layer.  Seems feather covered to us.
