Here is our 2004 2 litre petrol Mazda Bongo Friendee. Sad sale after 7 years of trips and adventures, but time for someone else to have some fun. Originally an 8 seater minivan, we bought it as a fully converted camper with pop-top roof, removable kitchen with electric hook-up, gas hob, sink, water pump and cupboard space and 5 factory fitted seats. It also has memory foam toppers that make a comfy double bed in the lower berth and removable slats in the roof to create the upper berth (4 berth in all). We have since bought an extra rear seat for 3, meaning you can take the kitchen out and have an 8 seater minivan if/when required. We also added new alloy wheels and pioneer touchscreen with apple and android connectivity, as well as keeping it regularly serviced, undersealed and treating rust. Mechanically this is a very solid and reliable vehicle, and it is one of the best looking Bongos we've seen! This is a 20 year old imported and converted van so there are some quirks and niggles - the odometer is in km so the milage advertised has been converted. There is some damage to the pop-up material (although nothing that compromises security or dryness). The rear passenger alloy has brake dust damage. We have never used the plug-in on the side of the van itself - we have always used the one connected to the kitchen. Bongos can suffer from rust and there is some visible, but we have regularly removed, treated and resprayed effected areas (mainly rear wheel arches). MOT is due is June, but we have had work carried out for sale, including a full service in February 2024. Plenty of other service history evidencing how much we have loved and looked after this van.
