This outstanding, 19th century Sioux War Club measures approx. 18 3/4”long and features a double pointed, gray stone head that is affixed to the shaft by a hide strip decorated with red white-heart glass beads. The shaft is wrapped in white, medium blue and red white-heart colored beads giving the Club an almost patriotic “look”. There is a short, rawhide drop at the butt end of the shaft.

    This very rare and original, ca1890’s Sioux Bead Decorated, Stone Head War Club is in very good condition. The ground stone head is strongly affixed to the shaft and very attractive, however, it is chipped on one of the two points as can be seen in the scans below. The shaft retains the vast majority of its bead wrap decoration with the wrap somewhat loose at the head end of the shaft and with some minimal loss at the butt end. There is no indication that there was a drop or wrist strap on the butt end of the shaft but if there ever was, it is lacking.
