This beautiful MCM piece of art was created by W.A. Bolin.  The history of this family is intriguing and dates back to 1790 in the German colony of the city of St. Petersburg, Russia.  To understand the provenance of any piece lends to the value and knowledge aspect, thereby validating a wise investment. Such would be the case with this piece. Please go to Wikipedia and read about this jeweler and the family that still exists today in Sweden.  The plate is made out of enamel and the figures are etched in an unknown material. It is heavy but since I primarily sell jewelry, I do not have a scale that can handle a piece of this size and weight.  It measures 11” x 9.50”. The signature is clear and the photos show this perfectly. It is in excellent condition and all marks seem to be seamless when I run my finger over it deeming them to be most likely, intentional.  There is one little round felt piece missing and I will replace it before sending it to you. There are very few of these out there so this would be a wise investment and something to hand down through the generations.  The art itself depicts a hunting scene reticent of what one would find on the wall of a cave dating back to when cave art was thought to take place, the Ice Age, between 40,000 and 14,000 years ago.  These men may even be your relatives!  Please reach out with any additional questions and keep checking back as I try to post new things daily.
