Outstanding 17th Century Silver!

1670-KB Hungary 6 Krajczar

PCGS MS64

A gorgeous near-gem example of this interesting "Hogmouth" silver issue. Beautiful light rainbow color drapes most of the obverse, the fields are flashy and fresh, and the high points are free from wear. A delightful piece.

Leopold I was Holy Roman Emperor during the reign of Louis XIV of France, a period marked by war and empire making by the supremely powerful French king, who dominated the landscape of European politics. An extremely pronounced jaw line earned Leopold the nickname "Hogmouth."
