A FINE c19th DUTCH SERGEANT MAJOR SOLDIER MILITARY WATERCOLOUR PORTRAIT PAINTING
Brief Description:
This is an immaculately presented superb quality late 19th/early 20th-century Dutch Militia Watercolour Portrait Painting depicting a Sergeant Major from the Dutch regiment of Grenadiers and Rifles, who is standing within an expansive rural landscape setting and wearing his full military uniform.
It is interesting to note that the artist, Johan Willem van Oorschot, was also a Major-General in the Dutch army.
The painting is beautifully executed, and it is signed by the artist and Major, lower right corner.
Presented within the original gilt and glazed frame and offered in first-class original condition.
