This is a vintage Santo Domingo Pueblo (Kewa) Thunderbird Pendant necklace and earring set. This necklace measures 22” long NOT including the pendant, and there is NO open clasp on this necklace. The necklace is strung on a strand of plastic and the plastic is knotted rather than having a clasp. This necklace includes 5 tabs on each side plus the Thunderbird pendant. The necklace has real turquoise chips and the rest of the necklace is made of modern plastics ( car batteries, records, etc), local gypsum, and other resources the Native Americans had available at the time when made. The tabs measure 1 5/16”x 9/26”. The Thunderbird pendant measures 3 3/16” x 2 5/16”. The earrings are made from similar materials. The thunderbird earrings measure 3/4”x 3/4” without the hooks.
