1978 1.3 Allegro Super.

Sadly, I'm losing storage space and need to downsize my collection and unfortunately this little fella needs to find a new loving home.

Purchased 2 years ago blind off ebay from a seller who said it was pretty solid. It wasn't and isn't - which will teach me to rely on some pictures for a car that was 300 miles away.

Car does run and drive - the engine does sound like a rebuild is needed with a knocking noise from the camshaft area. Had it running a few days ago with fresh fuel and moved it round the workshop but obviously, this does need to be trailered away. I can send a video of the engine running if you require.

As you'll see from the pics, there considerable rust in a lot of places - scuttle, both front wings, outer sills (and I suspect inners), rear quarters and boot. Drivers door has a dent in it which should pull out.

Over the last 2 years I've acquired a lot of panels including inner sills both sides, nearside front wing (which is boxed and I've not even opened it), full n/s rear quarter, headlight panel, bonnet and bootlid. Replacement front and rear bumpers also included. Panels cost over £700 alone.

Alloy wheels are Equipe style but I suspect they're from an Austin Ambassador rather than an Allegro.

Interior is all present and in reasonable but worn condition.

Please understand this isn't a roadworthy car. It does require a lot of welding but 2 door models are becoming increasingly rare and the reserve is at a level where the cost of the car is almost nothing when you factor in the price of the panels that come with it.

Car is based in Woodford Green, Essex. Buyer will need to provide ID when collecting. Cash / BACS payment accepted.

Please don't bid if you don't intend to buy. Viewing can be arranged - please send a message and I will respond.
