“Walt Disney’s Ugly Duckling”, published
in the UK by Collins Clear-Type Press c.1939, is far more than a retelling of
the Hans Christian Andersen story. After the first few pages the book has
content relating to Mickey Mouse, Donald Duck, the Three Little Pigs, Big Bad Wolf, Horace Horsecollar,
Silly Symphonies and other Disney characters and stories. There are pages to colour (which have not
been touched). See my photos for a selection of the pages, which are not numbered
but appear to all be present. The title
page has a copyright date of 1939 and an egg pictured on the inside front cover
reads “new laid 1938”. The book bears a pencil gift inscription from Christmas
1941. There is a partial dust wrapper, which is identical to the cover boards.
Condition is poor, with damage to the spine, occasional foxing and age-toning
of the page margins. Please note that my photos show the book in its wrapper,
followed by a selection of pages, then the book without its wrapper, and lastly
the wrapper opened out.

Equally, if an item sells for considerably more than expected then you might wish to boost the insurance or the depth of packaging, which will increase the shipping cost. I am always happy to combine items to reduce the shipping costs for you, but please note that when multiple items reach a high total value I may ask you to insure the package. If you want a service not stated, such as first class or surface mail, please ask for a quote. In all cases please discuss with me before making your payment. The maximum possible level of insurance on items sent overseas with Royal Mail is £250. If the total value of contents exceeds this figure then you will have to accept the risk of sending the item(s), or choose an alternative courier.
