The play button has to pressed several times for it to engage.

Once it engages, the playback is good. It sounds awesome, both channels are loud and clear. No squeel. The capacitors are healthy.

FF-RW engages. The playback is clicky from a mechanical point of view.

I am 100% sure this needs center gear and capstan related service.
