Very beautiful French full size violin from 1920's-1930's with no label. I was initially unsure about the origin of this violin, but have since had it confirmed that it is French (based on varnish, f-holes, shape and scroll.)
Scroll is very finely crafted indeed.
Rather unusually, the one piece back and ribs appear to have been made from cherry wood (rather than the usual maple). This gives it a lovely reddish feel (stylistically French).
The tailpiece is a little jazzy, and I have a spare antique/vintage ebony tailpiece in case the buyer would prefer a plain one. Please contact me if you would like this included with your new violin.
Very good condition for its age. While the violin is to the best of my knowledge ready to play, it does have cheap steel strings on it at the moment, so you will probably want to switch those for some others. The bridge also could do with being adjusted by your luthier to fit the violin.
