Tourism Plates were made through most of the 20th century by a Victorian family.  They were sold all around the southern states from the 1930's.  They now show a unique snapshot of another age, some plates or bowls, (all made of pressed glass), have the location, in this case a photo of Maroondah Dam near Healesville Victoria.  I suspect this plate is from the early 40's and it is in a square shape. At this time water storages were popular tourist destinations around Melbourne and people would often picnic there on Sundays.

The family developed a unique process to adhere the photograph to the glass and a tourist souvenir was born.  Interestingly these photos are still 80 or more years later in good condition and still look great.

Any questions just ask.
