This is a hard to find early free blown whale oil lamp with free blown font & pressed lacy scrolled base...blown at the Boston & Sandwich Glass Co in the 1830s.....it has a free blown font with hand pressed scrolled pattern base...crude 3 ring glass wafers joining the font and base together.....9 1/2"tall.. crude smooth sheared mouth would have taken a drop in whale oil burner with cork liner, which is missing.....Excellent shiny nice condition with only some small shallow chips on very bottom or base edge; no other damage. A nice clean whale oil lamp from the 1830s. These early blown/pressed whale oil lamps are getting harder to find. This is one of the finest lamps from our own personal collection....We just cant keep everything, so after 50 years of digging and collecting we have decided to part with many of our bottles (to make room for more..haha)...so keep watching our listings as many rare treasures are being found! ....
