Perhaps the most impressive of these technologies is 4K Upscaling, which upscales conventional Blu-ray to the new 4K standard. When matched to a suitable 4K TV, this gives an incredible 4 x the detail of the already impressive 1080p of Blu-ray. Simply put, detail and realism are unmatched.

Super Bit Mapping
Even if you don't have a 4K TV just yet, though, you can take advantage of other Sony tech. Super Bit Mapping means the standard picture is smoother, more realistic and with more natural colour than before. Video streamed at low resolution benefits from playback on the BDPS7200 too, as Sony's IP Content Noise Reduction Pro system, makes it appear crisper and cleaner with more natural colours and texture.

Excellent audio quality, whatever the source
Fully compatible with many high resolution audio formats, the Sony BDPS7200 also makes a superb music streamer. With its 'Digital Sound Enhancement Engine' (DSEE) it restores subtle audio detail that's often missing from compressed audio formats, such as MP3. This creates a fuller, more natural sound, while for complete audiophile suitability, the BDPS7200 also plays Super Audio Compact Discs, for totally revealing sound quality.

Dual core processing for the fastest web browsing
At the heart of the Sony BDPS7200's networking ability is SEN (Sony Entertainment Network). SEN gives access to a massive range of apps, including YouTube, BBC iPlayer, LOVEFiLM, Twitter, Facebook and many more. Dual Core processing makes SEN access and web browsing as fast and slick as your PC or tablet and there's also a web browser for full internet access (display of embedded video restricted). It's DLNA compliant too, so you can stream data from your laptop, PC or NAS drive device.

Super Wi-Fi
The Sony BDPS7200 features a super-sensitive Wi-Fi receiver, making it possible to join your network where other players may struggle. The strong signal pick-up should also mean a more reliable connection for smooth streaming and responsive browsing.

Bring your smartphone to the party
Screen Mirroring via Miracast lets you watch what's on your mobile or tablet, on the big screen - wirelessly. Share video clips or games, stream video and more on the big screen, wirelessly, without a Wi-Fi router, internet connection or special app - it's really simple. It does require a Miracast-certified smartphone running the latest firmware. TV SideView lets your phone take control, while also browsing TV guides and following live social media updates.
