This is an original press photo. Bay St. Louis, Mississippi--Commander John R. Erickson (left) receives the US Coast Guard Commendation Medal from CDR Peter A. Morrill, Deputy Director, NOAA Data Buoy Office, Mississippi Test Facility. Mrs. Erickson was present for the ceremony. CDR Erickson was cited for performance of duty while serving in the Radionavigation Aids Branch, Office of Marine Environment and Systems, U.S. Coast Guard Headquarters, Washington, D.C. Photo measures 10 x 8.25 inches. Photo is dated 09-28-1973.
