Listed today we have a Marples X4 Smoothing Plane in its original box with labels (Fairly rare to find it with the box!)

A nice, unique Plane with the adjustable mouth plus oversized front knob and handle to allow for better grip.

Also features opposite action lever cap to lock the iron in place.

Fitted with the original Marples iron featuring a round top and chamfered sides. 

The body is a heavy cast and measures 9 1/4" long x 2 3/8" wide with a 2" cut. 

All in very good condition!

The Plane was originally only manufactured between 1954 and 1965 and then discontinued due to low sales, hence the rarity of finding one these days!
