A VERY IMPRESSIVE GEORGE III SILVER SALVER - Thomas Watson, Sheffield, c1800.
A salver is a smaller tray raised on feet to the underside.
It measures 18.5cm in diameter.
Weight is a substantial 308 grams.
The circular Salver has an ornate cast rim. The surface of the tray is engraved with a foliate, scroll band around a central cartouche engraved with the crest of Castle battlements superimposed with a raised lance. The Salver is raised on three paw feet.
Hallmarked for Sheffield- Georgian marks but date letter rubbed Maker's mark of Thomas Watson & Co active c1800
In very good and clean condition without damage or fault. A fine example of Georgian silverware.
