Black and white vintage arcade card shows American singer, actress and writer Pearl Bailey (1918 -1990). Pearl began her career in vaudeville, then appeared on Broadway in 1946, winning a Special Tony Award in 1968 for the all-Black production of Hello, Dolly. Her TV career included her own ABC variety series in 1971 and a Daytime Emmy Award. She became an author in her later years, and, in 1975, was appointed special ambassador to the UN, holding that position under 3 presidents. In 1976 she became the first African American to receive the Screen Actors Guild Life Achievement Award; she also received the Presidential Medal of Freedom in 1988. Autographed in the plate "Best Always". Near mint condition. Black celebrities.
