Garabo refers to fabric woven on the oldest Japanese spinning machine, which was invented in Japan in the late Meiji Era.

Originally, it was made to recycle fiber waste such as yarn scraps into yarn at a time when fiber products were precious. At that time, there was still no electricity, and the machine was powered by a waterwheel.

Although the spinning machine was popular for a while, it has gradually declined due to modern mass-produced spinning machines, and now only a few spinning machines are in operation. This fabric is a precious garaboshi woven by one of these weavers.

The speed of galah spinning is very slow, and the amount of yarn produced in one day is about 10 kg.

However, because the yarn is spun slowly, it contains air and is soft and light.

The result is an irregular yarn that is soft, light, and airy, just like hand-spun yarn. This is a texture unique to Garabo that cannot be imitated by modern spinning, and is a wonderful Japanese technique.

The raw material of Garabo is organic cotton. This makes the fabric softer and gentler against the skin than regular cotton.
