Oversize book PLUS 12 huge maps

George Martin - World + Lands of ICE and FIRE

This lot features a copy of  George Martin's The World of Ice and Fire in near Fine collectible condition PLUS an equally nice first edition copy of The Lands of Ice and Fire that includes 12 oversize maps of Martin's fantasy domain.

The 324-page book has a plush padded cover, tight binding, and robust spine. There are no ownership marks anywhere: no signatures or bookplates, no underlining, no bent pages, no spine lean.  It measures 9 by 12 inches and features 100s of mostly color illustrations, many of them full page. 

The book has no obvious signs of handling or shelf wear and was very likely never read.

Also included with this lot is the full set of 12 oversize color maps that were originally issued as a companion "book" in 2012, called "The Lands of Ice and Fire". Each of the dozen maps measures 24 by 36 inches (approx 60 cm by 90 cm) when unfolded. All maps  appear to have been unopened when we photographed one for this listing (see the last of our 24 listing photos).

Maps are securely encased in the hardcover book/map holder which is about same overall size and shape as the padded book (9 by 12 inches). The map book is identified as a First Edition copy.

This two publications would make an excellent collectible for any fan of George Martin and the world famous A Game of Thrones.
