Info: | First released on Tape by Masami Akita on his own ZSF
label in 1983, this is the FIRST ever release on CD, 40 years after its
conception! A very special and historical album. A large part of the
sounds on this album have an analogue origin. Masami plays Drums (?)
and Guitar (?)... But also many other instruments and sound-surces such
as TV- ands Vocal samples, and of course Electronics, Loops, Effects,
Drum-Machines... The initial parts have a very freaky, late 70ies, psychedelic & prog touch, mixed to a sort of improvised free jazz sound. The whole is slowly turning into strong Godzilla-Japanoise as we are used by MERZBOW – to evolve further into a sort of very pulsating & tribal future-modern- dance muzak! In one word: MERZBOW! Artwork by Dario Pontrandolfo (official OEC graphic designer for years). For the design of this cover Dario took inspiration from the original tape made by Masami, plus Masami's love for animals and of course his way to turn noise into music.... Mechanized-Animal-Human! |
