This is a Precision Bass from around 1983.  The serial number dates to 1983 but Fender used the serial numbers across years so it could be a year earlier or later.  I have not disassembled to check the pots for more accurate dating.

It was purchased from Gruhn Guitars in Nashville in 2004.  I have the receipt but from the purchase.  I play guitar and only used this for adding bass lines to recordings which was very infrequent as I am a hobbyist.  It has mostly sat in the case in my music room.

The finish is in really good shape, some very minor scuff marks but no scratches or dents into the surface.  There aren't buckle marks or scratches on the back, but it isn't mint, still it's in very good shape.

As far as I know, everything is original.  I did nothing to the bass and I see no indication anything was done prior to my possession.

The case appears to be the OHSC, but I can't be certain, however it came with the guitar at purchase.  It certainly is a case for a P Bass and it seems to be the proper vintage.  It is somewhat warped on he top, as these Fender cases tend to get.  The bottom is a bit discolored (white haze) but is not structurally compromised and the inside is like new.  The bottom latch is broken but the other latches hold it closed without issue.  There is a picture showing the issue. The broken part of the latch is in the case, it is visible next to the receipt in the picture of the bass in the case.

I can take and load more pics if there is a specific shot desired, but give me a couple days as I have this in storage and need a day to get there, photograph, and upload.
