Description
This is a nice, veteran, "500 Dông" note from the "Republic of South Vietnam". It was issued by the National Bank of Viet-Nam in 1966 during the "Vietnam War" at the time the government was led by Nguyễn Văn Thiệu.
After the French regime of Indo-China was swept away, the "Geneva Agreement" of 1954 created the State of "South Vietnam". It lasted until 1975 when it was overwhelmed by the communist north. These notes are obsolete.
