This is the Preface as described in the following holding from the National Library of Scotland.


Brevarium Aberdonense: Pars estivalis. (Volume I.); Brevarium Aberdonense : Pars Hyemalis. (Voume II.). Londini : M.DCCC.LIV. Two volumes. The Breviary of Aberdeen was prepared and completed under the personal superintendence of William Elphinstone, bishop of Aberdeen. This reprint was edited by the Rev. William Blew and published for the Bannatyne and Maitland clubs. After the volumes were circulated, David Laing, at the request of the members of the Bannatyne club, prepared a preface dated September, 1855, accompanied with eight leaves in facsimile of "Compassio Beate Marie".
