This is a crude quart Pike's Peak Ceredo historical flask blown in the early 1860s at the Ceredo Glass Works in Ceredo, West Virginia..... FOR PIKE'S PEAK (boldly emb on front arched above a prospector with walking stick & bag of tools over his shoulder).......blank oval under his feet. Back has bold emb eagle off center with arrows & banner..... CEREDO (boldly emb in oval near base)....Hand blown in mold, bimal.....early half circle key mold smooth base.....quart....8 3/4"tall....crude applied lip....oval flask.....aqua....Excellent condition with no chips, cracks or damage, but has a tiny natural potstone that you can feel on the inside surface of the glass. It has a slight bruise/tiny legs about 1/8"across. Some light inside haze but not bad. It has an old Mackenzie Collection /Norman Heckler auction sticker . ...The Ceredo Glass Works was only in business a short time in the 1860s. Ceredo is a tiny town located in West Virginia right on the Ohio River. West Virginia was caught in the turmoil of the Civil War and most men from the Ceredo area joined Union Army regiments......
