This is an antique small scale made by Gilfillan Scale & HDW. Co. It features a black hand-painted finish with the US flag and eagle and E Pluribus Unum on each side, and is of nice quality. As it falls under the category of antiques, it is likely a collectible item for those interested in mercantile, trades, and factories.

I did verify that it works well, all the way up to 4lbs.  I have a scale weight set.  It is also adjustable.

It is very clean and in very good condition as the pictures show.
