Wonderful vintage silk column style wedding gown, looks to be circa 1980s, by Alfredo Angelo Dream Maker. This dress was professionally altered by the original wearer (I’m assuming), so size and material content tag has been removed. Materials feel high quality and my research tells me that the outer portion of the dress is made from Dupioni Silk, which is a handwoven silk that is meant to have variations in the weave. The dress is fully lined in a satin material that feels high quality as well. The bodice is tulle with a beautiful floral pattern applied, not sure what the technique is called. The bodice is also adorned with plastic faux pearls. The tulle portion of the bodice has a high neck, with a sweetheart bodice beneath it made from the same Dupioni Silk as the rest of the dress. The sleeves are elbow length and hey have a slight puff which is accomplished with the cutest little tulle shoulder pads and a scalloped edge. It has a low v back, back zip closure, and large silk bow that adorns the back side. This is a lovely, well made wedding gown.

The dress does not fit my size 8-10 dress form. It’s small, or even extra small. It has a 32” bust, 26” waist, and 39” hip. I don’t think the skirt is meant to be fitted. You can see there is some excess material on either side of the bodice, I am unsure if it can be let out or not, as there is no excess material around the sleeve/shoulder area.

No flaws that I can see. This dress however is at least 40 years old, so there may be minor signs of wear that I have missed. The dress has no funky or overwhelming odors to note. This is an estate find and I have no knowledge of history and have not had it dry cleaned.
