DESCRIPTION: Buyer will receive the exact Judson T. Webb Arts and Crafts Era flambé glaze ceramic vase shown in the photographs. Nothing else included or implied.

This is a hand thrown vase. Signed on the foot bottom with Judson Webb’s spiderweb mark. Fantastic flambé glaze on this beautiful Arts & Crafts era pottery vase!!! The glaze transitions from oxblood red to light powder blue to greenish blues. It is a very sweet little vase. The photos do not do it enough justice.

Judson Thomas Webb (American, 1859-1932) was a well known Chicago based Arts and Crafts era potter, he taught at the Art Institute of Chicago for many years, and trained a generation of potters. He also wrote a well known book about making pottery.

SIZE: 6” Tall x 3” diameter at widest point

CONDITION REPORT: Used. Antique. Black light tested. Very nice condition for its age, no chips, no cracks, no repairs, no restoration, no excessive use-wear. It has one small spot of missing glaze on foot ring near one of the three kiln trivet support marks. It has a manufactured small shallow dent under the glaze (fingernail sized) located on the side wall (see last 2 photos). It’s a minor manufacturing flaw, which would have been made while in the green state prior to kiln firing. Generally it has normal light use-wear for a 115 year old vase but nothing unsightly or excessive. It’s really great!

As always due to age and prior usage, the item may have slight imperfections such as minor scuffs, scratches, trim wear, and/or slight manufacturing defects. Please view all photos as they are part of this condition report. Ask questions prior to purchase.
