Disneyland Line
I'm listing an enormous collection of rare cast member newsletters from Disney, the long-published Disneyland Line newsletter for cast members. I'll be listing most of them in batches of 10 and in chronological order each evening as time permits, so please check back each evening to see new ones. It's a great way to add large batches to your collection!
These publications are treasure troves of historical dates, facts, figures, faces, places, and other behind-the-scenes details which were sometimes not shared with the public. Because they were intended for cast members, you'll learn a ton about Disneyland over time.
This auction is for 10 issues from 1973-75.
The contents include:
- February 21, 1973: The Walt Disney Story's production and creation is chronicled
- April 11, 1973: Safety award; New Mickey Mouse Club (in-park Mousekteers, not the TV show reboot from a few years later)
- April 18, 1973: Dick Nunis presents an award; photo of Lillian Disney dedicating The Walt Disney Story
- May 9, 1973: Great multi-page feature and photos about how the Jungle Cruise is drained to retrieve lost and found items
- August 1, 1973: Annual canoe races won by the Hotel's Lifeguard Division
- August 15, 1973: Great look at the artists who created the art and dolls for the Emporium window displays
- December 19, 1973: Christmas cast party with a Robin Hood theme for the then newly released movie;
- October 2, 1974: The Landscaping department profiled;
- April 9, 1975: Profile of cast members in the GAF camera store; memories of Disneyland 20 years later
- April 16, 1975: Feature about the Pendleton Woolen Mills shop in Frontierland; Jungle Cruise reunion planned; Full page newspaper reprint story about Stan Freese with the Disneyland band;
Great historical content if you're a fan of Disney park history!
