Vintage Red 'Not Under Command' (All-around Red Light) Ships Navigation Copper Oil Lantern, Lord  Line Ltd - Hull, Fishing Vessel Owners Association - Hull


Very rare and a considerable size / weight (Hence the high postage cost)


Difficult to date, but I would suggest around 1930 - 70's and looks unused.


Marked on the plates:


"Lord Line Ltd, Makers, St Andrews Dock, Hull" (One of the largest fishing trawler operators working out of Hull)


"Not Under Command"


"Hull Fishing Vessel Owners Association, Hull, No 2172"


Removable internal glass (not perspex) red coloured filter, marked "C B Ltd 9X7" (Chance Brothers Ltd - Smethwick)


Glass fresnel lens marked "GGG" within a triangle, (Genthe Glass Goslar - Germany) 


Original oil burner within, with conical glass shade, the wick tuner is marked "Sherwoods Ltd, Birmingham"


Working order


Large - 58cm high including handle x 34cm wide x 28cm deep. 13kg approx 


Very good condition, with only superficial wear, marks, dints and tarnishing. No chips or cracks to the glass.
