This is an antique Japanese temple drum a.k.a. wooden “fish gong”. Made sometime between 1918 and 1923. They were a popular addition to jazz kits back in the day. This came off from a 1923 Slingerland kit.

As you can see the a lot of the paint has been worn off from use. But the foundation is solid. No chips or cracks and still sounds great. Would be really easy to repaint back to its original glory. 7 inches tall. 5 1/2 inches wide.

Enjoy!
