This week we are offering Joanies “Great Estates” multi-week spring estate auction sales. This group of auctions features an amazing array of fresh to market hand picked treasures. The sales will span over the next few weeks starting with three days of Asian arts, followed by a sale of important works of art, silver, bronzes, porcelain, glass, two to three days of fine estate jewelry, and many other fine objects of virtue to numerous to mention!

We have saved up a great array of choice examples from important estate collections. The main portion of the collection came for a prominent Le Chateau Montreal family collection we have been offering over the past months. The family has now asked us to clear out their parents (packed full) Laurentian’s chalet. The vast majority of items were acquired by the parents 40-70 years ago, with many others being earlier family heirlooms. The family has indicated their parents were good friends of Alex Gurie of the famed Gurie Gallery, Montreal, and that many of the Asian arts examples were acquired from Gurie during the 1960 to 70s. This is surely one of the most impressive and large estates we have dealt with in over 20 years of offering estate items here on eBay. The vase has a very unique Transitional to Kangxi period landscape design, along with intricately detailed lion mask ring side handles. We have not seen another example quite like this. The vase has some interesting provenance with original letters that include a Sotheby’s appraisal done on the vase from 33 years ago. As seen, in the paperwork Sotheby’s indicates the vase is Chinese and dates to the 19th century. They gave an estimate of 400-600 dollars, which we are hoping would have increased since 33 years ago! The vase also has a base mark as seen. This vase is being offered Without Reserve!

Condition: Estate-fresh, very minor glaze imperfections consistent with antique age. Overall substantially fine with no chips, cracks, or repairs. UV light reveals no hidden damage.

Size: The vase measures 14 inches tall x 6 1/2 inches wide.
