Original 1971 Ireland single. Walton Music, CRC 71. A rare political single released in Ireland in 1971, at the height of the Troubles. In the song, 'the men behind the wire' were Catholics imprisoned in Long Kesh. The song has become better known to a new generation as the pro-IRA song which an Alan Patridge impersonator surprisingly sings during an episode of This Time with Alan Partridge.
