Description A superb rare English antique 19th Century Victorian (Queens head) solid sterling silver communion chalice/goblet with matching paten by the silversmith George William Adams in excellent clean condition and with English silver hallmarks for London 1878. Beautiful quality and a genuine 146 years old; a fine early-dated set still housed in its original velvet-lined fitted case and has the original undamaged gilding in the bowl. Weighs approx 97 grams and has a nice historic engraved year date on the underside. Stunning set, looks hardly used. 

Measurements Chalice measures approx 3.3 inches (83mm) in height and is 2 inches (50mm) in diameter. The paten measures 2.95 inches (74mm) in diameter.

Date English antique Victorian solid sterling silver with a full set of English silver hallmarks for London 1878 (date letter "C"). Good clear matching silver marks on Chalice and Paten and includes the silver duty stamp of Queen Victoria. The silversmiths initials are "G A", (George William Adams - 1840 - 1884).

Condition Excellent clean condition with no faults at all, a really superb undamaged antique set, looks hardly used. Beautiful quality and still housed in its original velvet lined fitted case, slight exterior age scuffing, really nothing much. A rare find.
