HISTORY: From the estate of race car driver Art Cross of E. Rutherford NJ..... started racing in 1938, raced at most E Coast tracks, joined the “Pappy” Hough 5 man racing team (Little Iron Pigs) in the 40’s advanced to the 1952 Indy 500 driving the Bowe’s “Seal Fast Special” finished 5th and received the first Indy 500 “Rookie of the Year” Award..... Included with this award is a copy of a  Kingsbridge Armory ,N.Y. program's front page  with Art Cross’s photo on the cover and his 2 page racing biography.
Being offered: Trophy is 11" tall, with a 3 1/2" topper,  with a 6" wood base . Not engraved,.... tape on bottom reads won at Danbury Ct. Fairgrounds, Sept 28, 1947, 2nd Place, ARDC Midgets - Offered as-is. "TROPHY ONLY". A nice addition to any East Coast or Indy 500  racing collection. Shipping 3 lbs
