Vintage 1947 Midget Car Racer ART CROSS -Danbury,Ct. -2nd Place TROPHY -#4

HISTORY: From the estate of race car driver Art Cross of E. Rutherford NJ..... started racing in 1938, raced at most E Coast tracks, joined the “Pappy” Hough 5 man racing team (Little Iron Pigs) in the 40’s advanced to the 1952 Indy 500 driving the Bowe’s “Seal Fast Special” finished 5^th and received the first Indy 500 “Rookie of the Year” Award..... Included with this award is a copy of a Kingsbridge Armory ,N.Y. program's front page with Art Cross’s photo on the cover and his 2 page racing biography.
Being offered: Trophy is 11" tall, with a 3 1/2" topper, with a 6" wood base . Not engraved,.... tape on bottom reads won at Danbury Ct. Fairgrounds, Sept 28, 1947, 2nd Place, ARDC Midgets - Offered as-is. "TROPHY ONLY". A nice addition to any East Coast or Indy 500 racing collection. Shipping 3 lbs
